What are Dermal Fillers injections?
Injectable dermal fillers have an immediate effect that can last anywhere from 3 to 12 months. The most common sites for fillers are the lips, nasolabial folds, cheeks and under the eyes. Fillers can also be used to fill depressions from acne scarring or injury to the skin. We offer top dermal filler brands, such as Stylage, Juvéderm, Restylane, and Teosyal. These fillers can be used to smooth facial lines and wrinkles, rebuild facial contours and create volume in the face.
Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing or lip plumping, and the results last up to 6 months or more. However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
Dermal fillers are injectable gels made of hyaluronic acid (HA); a substance found in human skin. Our skin is made of collagen, elastin fibres and hyaluronic acid. When any of these components of the skin breaks down, we get lines and wrinkles. If we can replace the hyaluronic acid then we can fill the lines and wrinkles in your skin.
Dermal fillers for line smoothing
Dermal filler injections give a natural ‘beauty lift’ to your appearance by adding volume to your skin and contouring to your face.
The fillers use a clear, biodegradable gel, based on hyaluronic acid, to lift out the lines, wrinkles and folds that occur with ageing skin. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, produced by the body to help retain moisture and volume in the skin. The thickness of the gel used in the injection depends on the area to be treated and the depth of the lines, wrinkles and folds that need filling out or smoothing.
Dermal fillers are an effective alternative to wrinkle relaxing injections for facial sculpting, including adding volume to cheeks, tear troughs (under-eye bags), lips and even subtle nose enhancements. They can also be used to increase hydration in the dermis on the back of the hands and the décolletage.
Dermal filler treatments at Skin Perfection
Fillers are used for both anti-ageing and beautification purposes. To give a more youthful visage dermal fillers can be used to reduce the appearance of mild to deep wrinkles and is particularly effective for treating mid to lower facial regions. Filler can be a non-surgical facelift option with a liquid facelift being the most popular option for lifting and contouring the face.
Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid. This injectable substance has a gel consistency made up of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid, which is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. There are many different dermal filler gels available, though we at Dr Leah Clinics always use Juvéderm®, a natural hyaluronic gel that leads the market and gives outstanding results in a variety of different areas (including the cheeks, nose, and lips).Dermal fillers are long-lasting but not permanent with the result of a single filler treatment lasting for around 6 to 12 months.
